I­ have­ just­ b­e­e­n­ w­an­de­r­i­n­g ar­o­un­d t­hi­s sho­p t­hat­ has t­he­ mo­st­ co­mfo­r­t­ab­le­ hammo­­c­k c­hair­s. I­ have al­w­ay­s­ tho­ught that hammo­cks­ l­o­o­ked i­mp­o­s­s­i­b­l­e to­ get i­n­ an­d o­ut o­f­ an­d very­ un­co­mf­o­rtab­l­e. W­hen­ I­ s­aw­ the chai­rs­ I­ deci­ded to­ try­ them o­ut an­d s­ee w­hat they­ w­ere l­i­ke an­d I­ w­as­ real­l­y­ s­urp­ri­s­ed at ho­w­ co­mf­y­ they­ w­ere an­d ho­w­ eas­y­ they­ w­ere to­ get i­n­ an­d o­ut o­f­. I­ gues­s­ I­ have w­atched to­o­ man­y­ s­i­l­l­y­ f­i­l­ms­ w­here p­eo­p­l­e f­al­l­ o­ut o­f­ hammo­cks­ etc. I­ deci­ded, af­ter try­i­n­g teh chai­rs­, that I­ real­l­y­ s­ho­ul­d try­ o­ut the h­a­m­m­ock­ as­ w­ell. I didn’t w­ant to­ lo­o­k s­illy­ tho­ug­h s­o­ I tho­ug­ht it m­ig­ht b­e w­is­e to­ as­k the s­ho­p­ as­s­is­tant ho­w­ the b­es­t w­ay­ w­as­ to­ g­et in it. S­he s­ho­w­ed m­e ho­w­ to­ p­o­s­itio­n m­y­s­elf­ rig­ht in the m­iddle and then m­y­ w­eig­ht w­o­uld b­e evenly­ dis­trib­uted and it w­o­uldn’t tip­. S­he w­as­ s­p­o­t o­n and eas­ily­ g­o­t in and lay­ b­ack and then g­o­t o­ut ag­ain w­itho­ut m­aking­ a f­o­o­l o­f­ m­y­s­elf­! M­y­ hus­b­and w­as­ very­ im­p­res­s­ed and even s­ug­g­es­ted that w­e g­o­t o­ne f­o­r the g­arden, b­ut I w­as­ s­till keener o­n the chairs­ then. Ho­w­ever, I think I m­ay­ b­e s­o­ld o­n a Hatte­ras­ hammo­ck yet­!

I have always had a thing for starfish jewellery since I was a child. I think it stems from the day when I first found a rock pool at the beach and saw some lovely starfish. I wanted to take them home and have them as pets but thankfully my parents persuaded me that they would not be very happy living with me. Since then I have started to collect beautiful things in starfish designs. I have not got that many things as I only pick really special pieces, I see no point in buying something just for the sake of it. I have only got one other piece of starfish jewellery which is a lovely starfish necklace and I have been looking for ages for some other jewellery to go with it. I look around all the time but nothing comes close and I think that I will just have to match it with plain jewellery and make a big statement with it alone rather than trying to get other bits and pieces to mix in with it. I am sure it will look lovely with a plain outfit when I can really show it off, which is what it deserves.

My son plays rugby, much to my horror. I always knew that it was a mistake when I saw how many rugby players ended up at my local hospital and from then I vowed I would never let any children of mine play rugby. Unfortunately my son loves it and there is nothing I could do, bar of chaining him up, that would stop him playing. Last week he came home with a gel pack on his knee and he was limping around for a few days but he shrugged it off as nothing. He played rugby again at school and I am sure he must have aggravated the injury as he came back with a knee wrap but said that it was just a precaution by his games teacher. I decided that from then on I would always make sure that we had some wraps and some Colpac gel packs at home so that he can use them whenever he feels the need. I think I will put them in his bedroom then he doesn’t even have to tell me about his injuries as I know that he hates for me to worry and may not ask me for them.
